Personally I'm not impressed I'll stick with my itouch. I am a windows user but it has nothing to do with that I just feel it is a waste if I'm going to spend money with apple I'm going to get a mac not an ipad. More money for a bigger screen I'll pass, although it may be worth considering for those who want an e-reader but I wouldn't take that out the house that is a theft magnet.

To use it as both a phone and a computer is unrealistic.I can't even imagine how difficult typing is.And if you want to type at a decent rate I would assume you would have to set it down.Which means laying on a flat surface.Looking down at a flat surface for a long period of time would neck and back pain. For $800, you can buy a lot of stuf, ipod touch, iphone. I own a touch 2g, and I love but it seems the ipad is a bigger version with the bonus of bigger screen, and more apple apps such as keynote. I hope they don't put a camera on it, becuz its useless. Adding a camera to a product is not going to make the product any better. Think about it, how stupid someone will look trying to take a picture of a friend in public using the ipad as a camera...lol. Now if they have a camera as an accessory where you can simply plug it in, that would be the only logical answer otherwise if its not needed don't add it. Apple made a smart move. How come it doesn't say anything about the memory. The largest HD you can get is 64gb. I have a 500gb HD in my desktop so the ipad would be good for portable reasons for me. but for somebodys first computer, this is going to suck. Unless it supports external hds then nevermind. Don't know how many USB ports there are if there are any but I'm hoping it does.

Just to get the record straight... The "i" in front of all of apple's products means that they own it, not you. Sure you just paid 400-3000 dollars for it, but they still own it. They dictate what you put on it, how you use it. They dictate what apps can be put in their store, and remove tons of them at will. if some company make a case with a keyboard all in one then this in theory can be great for college students. i work looks amazing (better than word on netbooks) apps are rich and smooth netbooks cant even run games like the ipad. need for speed/ assassins creed etc. apps can be loaded very fast so lack of multitasking should not be something to whine about.
