It's the locking differential, if the Ford had a locking differential, and the Silverado was the 5.3 instead, it would be more equal...the locking rear differential gave the Silverado the advantage..Ford seems to be built better for short term real work use, and GM long term, occasional use..they both have their pros,and cons, comes down to personal preference though..Ford seems to be built stronger, but GM more durable..

ok first of all my grandma can pull any truck as soon as its roasting the tires, the truck has no traction. as soon as the ford started roasting the tires it no longer has traction then the chevy started to pull, its all win from there, these tests are dumb and dont produce any results, if you want to see if a for or chevy can out "pull" the other, make them two a heave load.

Leave it to Consumer Reports to continue to tarnish the Chrysler/Dodge name. I own a 2009 Challenger SRT. I've test driven the Mustang and Camaro and found the SRT the better of the 3. I'm sick of looking at Mustangs.The Camaro feels like you're driving around in a coffin. From the time I first seen the car, I thought it had an "Asian" look to it. Low and behold, it was designed by a Korean guy. I'm not looking for a car that's the fastest, just best looking. The SRT is the best of them all.

The Prius' electric motor and gas engine both power the wheels and that is not easy to coordiate. The Prius needs a transmission. And the Prius gas engine is almost always on when you accelerate. The gas engine on the Volt just has to turn its electrical generator to charge its battery. There is no transmission on a Volt.

Let's see. If I wanna drive from Minneapolis to Dallas. Normally it would take 19 hours 42 mins to make the trip. 1,197 miles. You have to recharge this car every 40 miles. Also remember that electricity costs money. 1,197 / 40 = 29.925 You would have to recharge about 30 times for the trip. 30x8=240. You would add 240 more hours to your trip so you could charge the battery. You've taken a 20 hour trip and turned it into a 260 HOUR TRIP! WOULD YOU WAKE UP!?!?!?!

Who ever said that the cars of the '50s look the same you better get your eyes checked because if you look at all cars today they don't differ much year to year but in the '50s man just look at the changes the '55 looks nothing like the '56 and the '56 definetly looks nothing like the '57. Look at a toyota prius and a honda civic and their shapes are basically the same. The '50s were the most happy times in america. buy the '60s is when we took on our now $1,000,000,000+ worth of national debt.

All cars in the 50's looked the same to me. All chrome and wings and protruding parts in the interior. Like the spear in the middle of the steering wheel. What where they thinking? And did you see that ride? The thing looked like parts were going to fall of making those tight turns. A freighter can make tighter turns. Yeah people remenise. My late ex girlfriend Cindys" Dad onwed a 1978 white Chevy Van. he used to trade me his van for my 1973 Green Chevy Inpalla on the weekends. Man was that a ride. Later, in 1982 He got a Green Chevy Monte Carlo, and gave me the 78 Chevy Van as a gift. He Died in 1991, but I'll never forget him and that 78 Chevy van he gave me. I felt I lost my Dad again that year, my dad died in 1968. But Ill always remember Hanns Schmidt who is with his daughter Cindy in Heaven. RIP Dad, I miss you and Cindy.

Sorry, but that is a 1958 Apache Panel Truck. The first GM van was the Corvair-based Chevrolet Greenbrier van, or CorVan introduced for 1961, which used a flat-6 opposed rear engine w/air cooling, inspired by the VW bus. The Chevy Greenbrier ended after the 1964 model year. The true Chevy Van refers to the 1st Chevy G-Series vans G-10 1/2 ton years 1964-1966. It had the dog house between the seat like the traditional van, and was made to compete with the Ford Econoline and the Dodge A-100.
